Ashley Stull is the creative force behind Free Your Mind, an art studio she opened in August 2024 in St. Johns County, FL. Dedicated to teaching creative thinking skills, her studio serves as a registered school and training facility, inviting individuals of all ages to explore the transformative power of art and the creative process. She is dedicated to serving her community and is member of the St. Augustine Beach Rotary Club and also volunteers at her children's schools every chance she can get.
Ashley graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2000 with a degree in Business Management. After marrying and starting a family, she faced significant challenges, including a high-conflict divorce while navigating a 15-year career in the mortgage and real estate industry. This tumultuous period led her on a quest for healing, during which she tried various therapies and medications, but found little relief.
It was not until she discovered art that her life began to change. The creative process offered her solace and empowerment, allowing her to heal from past traumas and reconnect with joy. As a single mother of three boys for eight years, Ashley embraced the chaos and beauty of motherhood. In 2016, she remarried and welcomed a daughter in 2017.
Today, she balances life with two school-aged children at home while her older sons are beginning their own journeys.
Since embracing art in 2015, Ashley has experienced tremendous personal and professional growth. With over 58,400 hours dedicated to experimenting with various mediums, she has honed her skills in a wide range of creative pursuits, including furniture makeovers, upholstery, sewing, woodworking, painting, 3D art, epoxy resin, custom built cabinetry/walls, home renovations and more.
In 2022, she moved to St. Augustine, where she found inspiration along the beach, collecting shells, driftwood, and bamboo. This sparked a new venture into creating unique beachcombed 3D wall art and beach villages, showcasing her one-of-a-kind artistic style.
Ashley’s work has gained recognition, leading to her acceptance as an exhibiting artist at Mayfaire by the Lake, a prestigious juried fine art show hosted by the Polk Museum of Art. She also captured the attention of Flagler College's Lifelong Learning Program, where she will teach a "Creativity in Art" class in Spring 2025. Her art has been showcased online and at various markets across Florida. In addition, you'll find some of her artwork at the "Yoga Den" in St. Augustine which has a 7'x14' mural of Ashley's "Bridge of Lions A Waters View" printed on the yoga studio wall.
Despite her artistic achievements, Ashley felt a deeper calling to serve her community. She believes in the healing power of the creative process, whether through making art or building projects.
Through Free Your Mind, Ashley aims to provide a healthy outlet for stress and foster life-enriching skills, empowering individuals to embrace their creativity as well her upcoming "SHE BUILDS" workshop series in effort to break the barrier that building, as a creative process, isn't just for men but rather building is for everyone!! And her workshops will teach women how to use power tools so they too can expand their creativity horizons.
At Free Your Mind, Ashley invites everyone to join her on this journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration. She is passionate about helping others experience the joy and healing that creativity can bring, and she is excited to build a vibrant community centered around artistic expression.
